Every Tamaruva journey is private and small, but the Apex is different in kind: ten days, the high mountains, and a deliberate shedding of noise. It is the journey we recommend least often — and the one its guests describe in a different tone of voice.
The architecture is a slow ascent. The journey builds from forest valleys into Itatiaia’s montane world, trading the lowland cast — tamarins, toucans — for the high one: the saudade’s call, plateau endemics, the cloud-filled mornings below the peaks, and the remote country where the northern muriqui still survives. Days are built around light and weather rather than clocks.
The "silence" in the name is not marketing. At altitude, with small lodges, no groups, and long unpaved hours, there are stretches of day in which the loudest thing is a hummingbird. Guests who come for photography find the stillness productive; guests who come for decompression find it medicinal. Most came for one and discovered the other.
Who is it for? Travellers who have done the famous destinations and want the one their friends have not heard of; photographers chasing endemics and altitude light; and anyone for whom the word "remote" is not a warning but a promise. Ten days is a commitment. The mountain keeps its side of it.
