The Golden Lion Tamarin — the heart of the Tamaruva seal

Our Essence

The Story of Our Seal: The Golden Lion Tamarin and the Living Forest

Every detail behind Tamaruva and our visual identity was meticulously crafted to translate the very soul of our region, with the Golden Lion Tamarin standing as our ultimate flagship and identity.

01The Golden Lion Tamarin

A Golden Lion Tamarin moving among branches in the Atlantic Forest

The Golden Lion Tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia): The absolute heart and soul of Tamaruva. As the peerless flagship of Rio de Janeiro's biodiversity and the lifelong conservation triumphs in Silva Jardim, this charismatic primate represents our deep commitment to keeping forest habitats connected so wildlife may thrive in absolute freedom. Through our privileged access and close affinity with the Golden Lion Tamarin Association (AMLD), we offer our travelers an intimate glimpse into this remarkable conservation success story.

02The Juçara Palm

The Atlantic Forest canopy — home of the Juçara palm

The Juçara Palm (Euterpe edulis): The foundational ecological pillar sustaining the forest. By championing ethical management and sustainable fruit harvesting, we secure abundant nourishment for fauna and fuel the local bioeconomy while keeping the majestic trees standing.

03The Red-necked Tanager

The Red-necked Tanager (Tangara cyanocephala): Representing the dazzling avifauna that mesmerizes naturalists and birdwatchers along every trail, complementing the rich symphony of life in our territory.

04Atlantic Forest Birdwatching Treasures

Atlantic Forest Birdwatching Treasures: Across our exclusive territory—from REGUA and Fazenda dos Cordeiros to the lands protected by AMLD—discerning birders can track ten of the most coveted, rare, and exquisite avian species of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, including the elusive Shrike-like Cotinga (Chibante), Black-legged Dacnis (Saí-de-pernas-pretas), Brazilian Tanager (Tiê-sangue), Jacutinga, Saffron Toucanet (Araçari-banana), Frilled Coquette (Topetinho-vermelho), Bare-throated Bellbird (Araponga), White-necked Hawk (Gavião-pombo-pequeno), Restinga Antwren (Formigueiro-do-litoral), and White-bibbed Antbird.

05The Tamaruva Seal

The Tamaruva Seal: Far more than a mere emblem, this signature seal embodies the core ethos of Tamaruva Origins: an unbreakable alliance between conscious discovery, profound cultural immersion, and the noble responsibility of championing a living, inhabited forest through ultra-sustainable luxury travel in Rio de Janeiro
